By what Constitutional provision is the office of Czar justified?

The answer is NONE!

Is there a single U.S. statute dealing with anything to do with a Czar?

The answer is NONE!

By what authority does these appointed Czars lord over American industry?

The answer is NONE!

What legal relationship is there between Congress and these Czars?

The answer is NONE!

By what Constitutional authority does the Executive branch appoint Czars?

The answer is NONE!

What branch of government does the office of Czar fall under, Executive, Legislative or Judicial?

The answer is NONE!

Are the dictates of the Czars enforceable by the Judicial branch of government or any enforcement agency of the government of the United States?

The answer is NO!

Do American industrial leaders have to obey the dictates of the Czars?

The answer is NO!

Are Czars elected by the citizens of the United States?

The answer is NO!

Can Czars be impeached by Congress?

The answer is NO!

Does the Constitution provide the Czars any diplomatic credentials including immunity?

The answer is NO!

Are the Czars answerable to the citizenry?

The answer is NO!

Are our elected representatives protecting us from this unconstitutional oligarchy of Czars?

The answer is NO!

Have our elected representatives the legal authority to use taxpayer revenue to pay the salaries of the Czars?

The answer is NO!

Are our tax dollars paying the salaries of the Czars.

The answer is YES

Does this smack of coup de tat?

The answer is YES!

Are you going to do anything about it?

The answer is…?

I think we might wish to consult a couple of the founders on this for guidance in the matter.

According to reports, President Barack Obama plans to convene his Cabinet for the first time today, where he will order members to identify a combined $100 million in budget cuts over the next 90 days. Obama About To Put The Government Into The Auto Warranty Business

By Rob on March 30, 2009 at 07:01 am Why not?  General Motors has become Government Motors, so it’s just natural that we’d have the government running warranties too right?

Obama will make two other announcements Monday.

One, the president will announce a new government-backed warranty program for all new GM and Chrysler vehicles purchased during this restructuring period. A fund will be set up equal to 125 percent of the total cost to pay for warranty service.  The auto makers will contribute 15 percent while the government will provide 110 percent, with the money coming from the economic stabilization funds, the gift that keeps on giving. A separate company will hold the funds and pay the claims even if one of the auto manufacturers goes into bankruptcy or out of business.

The president will also name a Director of Recovery for Auto Workers and Communities. Edward Montgomery, labor economist and former Deputy Secretary of Labor, will serve in the role, helping autoworkers, communities, and regions adversely impacted by the failure of the automakers find new jobs, businesses, and industries.

Owners of GM and Chrysler vehicles can expect the same level of customer service and responsiveness they get from the DMV.

Frankly, this will probably be a big selling point for Toyota, Honda, Kia and other foreign auto manufacturers.  At least until Obama drives them out of the country with protectionist, anti-foreign business policies in order to eliminate their competition with our new nationalized domestic auto industry.

Obama to do something

I’m still waiting for Obama to do something, anything, to stimulate the economy, rather than package up entitlements, public sector spending bumps, billions for ACORN, corporate welfare, and earmarks, call it ‘stimulus’ (although its the exact opposite of stimulus) and then jack up taxes (which is actually de-stimulating) to pay for it.

Of course, we all assume he actually wants to improve the economy… fact is, he probably doesn’t- every new person on the expanded welfare rolls, and every new gov’t employee, will vote Democratic to secure their goodies.

Congratulations: You’re Hiring (250,000 New Bureaucrats)!

With the economy struggling, it’s nice to see someone hiring – you. Yes, you, the taxpayer. According to the Washington Post, President Obama’s massive $3.6 trillion budget proposal is so expansive that “tens of thousands of new federal government workers” will be needed to do… whatever it is government bureaucrats do.

The Heritage Foundation estimates the number of new federal bureaucrats to be hired could be as many as 250,000. From the Post:

“The $3.6 trillion plan released last week proposes spending billions to begin initiatives and implement existing programs, and given Obama’s insistence that he would scale back the use of private-sector contractors, his priorities could reverse a generational decline in the size of the government workforce.

“Exactly how many new workers would be needed remains unclear — one independent estimate was 100,000, while the conservative Heritage Foundation said it is likely to be closer to a quarter-million. …

“If the outside estimates are realized, Obama could spur a government hiring spree on a scale unseen since President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society agenda in the 1960s.”

Another way of looking at it is this: at a time when Americans are worried about their own jobs, Democrats in Washington want to raise their taxes to give government jobs to other people.

Next thing you know, Democratic leaders will want us to pay for people who can’t afford their mortgages too… oh wait…
